CNC Machine Operation : Proficiency in operating VMC machines and CNC control panels (e.g., FANUC, Siemens). Machine Setup : Knowledge of setting up tools, fixtures, and workpieces accurately. G-Code Interpretation : Ability to read and interpret G-code programs and make minor edits if needed. Blueprint Reading : Understanding engineering drawings and blueprints to follow specifications. Tool Selection & Offsets : Choosing correct cutting tools and entering tool length and diameter offsets. Measuring & Inspection Tools : Using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc. Tolerances Understanding : Ensuring machined parts are within required tolerances. Surface Finish Awareness : Checking for proper finish and burr-free edges. Problem Solving : Diagnosing machine errors, tool wear, or misalignment issues. Time Management : Efficiently managing machining time and meeting production deadlines. Communication : Reporting issues clearly to supervisors or engineers. CAM Software (basic) : Some familiarity with CAM software (like Mastercam, Esprit) is an advantage.
